The CrossFit Games are the world championships for CrossFit and are considered to be the ultimate test of fitness. Each year the final phase of this competition takes places in Carson, California, in the United States. Atheletes take on workouts involving varied movements spanning Gymnastics, Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting, and Endurance sports.

The most challenging aspect of the Games is that the tests of fitness, in this case the workouts themselves, are not announced until a few days prior to the event. The year long preparation for the event needs to account for a format that is almost a complete mystery. CrossFit methodology teaches that we must be prepared for the “unknown and unknowable” which is a a direct parallel to the challenges we face in everyday life. Achievement of fitness is thus defined by the ability to accomplish a multitude of tasks relatively well.
